About Nick

Nick Zissimopulos is a trial lawyer. Board Certified in Criminal Trial Law by The Florida Bar, he has handled cases from misdemeanors to complex felonies in both state and federal court, alongside a civil practice covering car accidents, wrongful death, and other serious injuries. He's an honors graduate of the University of Florida's Levin College of Law and has practiced in Gainesville his entire career.

He's also spent his career teaching the craft. Since 2004, Nick has coached the trial team at the Levin College of Law and guest lectured in trial practice and appellate advocacy. He's a past president of the James C. Adkins Jr. Inn of Court and the local chapter of the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

Personal Life

Nick grew up in Tarpon Springs, Florida, home of the only high school in the world with the Fighting Spongers as a mascot. These days he lives in Gainesville with his wife, Jessica, and their family.

Off the Clock

When he's not in the courtroom or coaching the trial team, Nick is usually with his family, traveling, jogging, or watching the Gators play football, basketball, and baseball. He's a devoted NBA fan working through a goal of visiting every arena in the league, a lifelong fan of anything Star Wars or Marvel, and a firm believer in weekend pizza (a position his kids strongly oppose). He'll happily eat the hottest thing on the menu, though he says the Paqui Hot Chip Challenge was a one-time event. He's also coached community basketball in the Oak Hall league.
